Job Description

The Business Analyst will identify and develop the conceptual solution and business requirements for the Information Management Program or Project. This includes facilitating customer meetings to identify Analytic Processes and Key Performance Indicators. The Business Analyst will capture and formalize this information and develop the business strategy & business requirements. The Business Analyst is responsible for the successful delivery of a solution that meets customer requirements and supports the overall strategy and scalability identified during the Strategy & Road Map. This individual must have strong interpersonal skills to facilitate: requirements gathering, quality reviews, deliverable approvals, and project/program decisions with key stakeholders, & project teams. This individual must have a proven track record of successful project delivery with increasing responsibility over time.

Skills & Responsibilities:

Effective Business Analysts must have demonstrated the following:
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
    • Deep experience in one of the following
      • Oil & Gas Upstream, Downstream, Trading
      • Utilities including Smart Grid technology
      • Mining
      • Healthcare Payer
      • Pharmaceutical
      • Healthcare Provider
  • Experience developing business cases for Information Management projects including development of ROI, NPV, and Risk Estimating.
  • Expert at understanding user needs by facilitating and gathering user requirements and preferences and leading/recommending solutions that meet these needs.
  • Experience implementing/participating in MDM, Metadata, Profiling, and Information Quality Projects or Programs
  • Identifying business requirements and ensuring designs adequately meet the requirements of the project while remaining aligned with the overall program strategy & architecture
    • Identifying Quality Assurance criteria and test cases
    • Regulatory Requirements
    • Industry Best Practices
  • Capturing and Refining the 'as is' and 'to be' business processes especially as they pertain to Information Management and Program Delivery
  • Experience with data modeling is preferred.
  • Project Communication:
    • Conduct & Facilitate business requirement and quality reviews
    • Review User Adoption of deliverables and acceptance testing
    • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

Industry Expertise:

This individual must have deep experience working in one of the domains listed above with progressive experience over the past 5-10 years.

In addition, this individual must have exposure to Information Management methodologies, including:

    • Large Scale Data Delivery (BI) & Data Warehouse
    • Master Data Management
    • Metadata Management
    • Information Quality
    • Information Governance and Stewardship
  • This individual must have worked at all levels of technical delivery including development, testing, design, and architecture.
  • Experience with any data delivery tool is preferable.

Education:

A BA or BS is required for this position. A degree in an Energy discipline (eg Geology, Petrophysics) or Engineering is preferred.
