Our next Lunch and Learn Tuesday, January 21, 2020 for our next Lunch and Learn with Allan Chatenay, President of Explor presenting "The Future is Cloudy." With increasing seismic trace densities, data volumes are growing exponentially. At the same time, cloud computing is coming into its own and growing rapidly. There is much talk about big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence. We all have a sense that the cloud can solve our data management woes, but is this true?
Mr. Châtenay leads a team that explores on the frontiers of technology. He will speak about the work his team has done driving high density seismic acquisition, migrating seismic data to the cloud, the lessons learned, and what it all means for geoscience data managers. Mr. Châtenay has been in the geophysical industry for over 30 years. Prior to joining Explor in 2002, he gained over 14 years of experience in the industry while working for Schlumberger. Allan was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, where he currently resides with his wife Heather, and their two sons. He volunteers with several industry and community organizations.
We look forward to seeing everyone there for this interesting talk. To attend please click the link to RSVP.
