PPDM Association Events are
specifically designed to facilitate collaborative idea
sharing, discussion, and networking. Learn from your
colleagues’ experiences, ask questions, build
relationships and make key face-to-face connections. Engage
in dynamic sessions and attend an information packed
presentation. This virtual event is open to anyone around the world interested in attending.
This virtual event will feature two short presentations by:
Trudy Curtis, CEO of the PPDM Association, on the PPDM Association's relationship with the OSDU
Andy Thompson, Oil and Gas Authority, will present "Data and the Digitally Enabled Energy Transition."
There has been a great deal of talk about digitalisation and transition in our industry. Indeed, there has been much talk about digitalisation being an enabler of the transition, and rightly so. Stirring stuff… but this community will appreciate, perhaps more acutely than others, that the potential in digital is anchored in data.
The OGA’s recent relaunch of the UK National Data Repository, using Osokey cloud native technology, is intended to make available more offshore licence-related data than ever before. By taking an active approach to maintaining data quality, consistency, completeness and accessibility, the UK NDR aims to be a true digital enabler of strategic projects that can transform the energy industry on the UKCS.
Our industry is in transition, aiming to preserve our social licence to operate in the eyes of our society and to support the Secretary of State’s aim to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The vast wealth of UKCS licence data, that can be made freely available and ready for reuse through the NDR, will prove absolutely crucial to supporting digital projects that can enable the transition.
