Energy Data Management Certification Committee

The PPDM Association has a certification committee in place to design, promote and develop certification programs that will be industry recognized within the realm of Energy data - the Energy Data Management Certification Committee (EDMCC). The certification programs will become the basis for industry-based job family hierarchies as well as the guidelines that can be applied for hiring managers to recognize the “base knowledge” required for various aspects of data management within this space.

The EDMCC currently consists of three active, and an inactive, subcommittees:
The Data Analyst Sub Committee is content specific to Energy Data Analysts and has the function to develop and maintain the certification item banks and supporting resources in their field.

The Governance Sub Committee is responsible for the Policy and Procedure in the areas of exam delivery and credential maintenance and acts as the central link to ensure a consistent process and communication.

The Communications Sub Committee, established in May 2020, exists in an advisory and creative capacity to assist in creating communications and other materials with the goal of promoting the PPDM Association's Certification program.

The Geospatial Sub Committee is content specific to the Geospatial Certification and has the function of developing and maintaining the certification item banks and supporting resources in their field. We would like to thank Samantha Murray, Andrew Tomlinson, Scott Sitzman and Jon Connick for their hard work developing this program. This certification has been paused pending funding.

The EDMCC Committee is actively recruiting new members to keep the certification and supporting materials up to date as CPDAs pass through the program. For more information on this Committee, or to get involved, please contact certification@ppdm.org.
