New Application Requirements Announced - 3-Years Work Experience

The CPDA governance committee and the PPDM have responded to industry and candidate feedback and have lowered the Work Experience requirement.
Candidates with a minimum of 3-years petroleum data management-related work experience may now apply to sit the CPDA exam.



Why Certify?

In today’s complex Exploration & Production (E&P) environment, poor quality in data analysis and management can result in major environmental and human impacts with serious, even fatal consequences.

A CPDA™ certification validates to employers, clients, and colleagues that a CPDA™ credentialed professional possesses data management aptitude, knowledge, experience, and skills to bring success in petroleum data management. Leading to the professionalization of petroleum data management, ensuring that best practices are shared and upheld within our industry, reducing risk and supporting better decision making.

Who Should Certify

The Certified Petroleum Data Analyst (CPDA™) credential is awarded to individuals who meet the PPDM Association’s established eligibility requirements and successfully complete an examination of professional-level knowledge. CPDA™ certification establishes a standard of excellence in data management for data analysts who have a minimum of three (3) years of oil and gas data management experience.
